After breeding and showing Airedale Terriers with the "Chalma" prefix since 1974, our friends Karsten Kaemling and Dann Wilson of Alchemy and Milenka Cesky Terriers introduced us to the Cesky Terrier and our first Cesky "Barnaby" aka Ch. Alchemy Milenka's Baron Chalma. (Ch. Artax Andel X Milenka Ginoch's Kvitko)
 "Barnaby" aka Ch. Alchemy Milenka's Baron Chalma Starting in January of 2000, the Cesky was allowed to compete in regular classes in the Terrier Group at Canadian Kennel Club Shows. Barnaby finished his championship in May of that year and has since had group placements and placed in the top ten Ceskies each year until his retirement at the end of 2004. Barnaby was #1 Cesky Terrier in Canada in 2001. In July of 2000, we welcomed three month old "Anicka" of The Porkwood Heath into our home (Orest Ginoch's Kvitko X Nevinna Ginoch's Kvitko), bred by Tom and Gerry Merkx of The Netherlands. Anicka obtained her championship in December 2001 by winning Best of Breed from the classes at the first Canadian Cesky Terrier Booster Show.
 "Anicka" of The Porkwood Heath Together Barnaby and Anicka have had two very fine litters. The first on April 5, 2002 produced seven puppies (4 girls/3 boys), the second on July 16, 2004 gave us six boys. Brewster and Roma provided us with a beautiful litter on December 27, 2006 (2 girls/2 boys).
We were very pleased to have found great homes for the "A" , "B" & "C" litters. Nine have emigrated to the U.S.A. and eight remain in Canada. In the conformation ring, two from the first litter are now Canadian champions and one is a UKC champion in the U.S.A., another has taken agility and Therapy Dog training. "Avery" aka CH. Chalma's Aveline and "Brewster" aka Ch. Chalma's Braumeister decided to stay with us. From the "C" litter, we co own Chalma's Carita with Marnie Korhonen who lives in Toronto.

In September 2003, at three months of age, "Cantabile Roma" (Nelum Himalus Darude X Cantabile Oksana) bred by Mia Johnsson arrived from Finland to become the fourth member of our Cesky family. In 2004, Roma finished her championship at 10 months of age and gained two group placements by the end of the year. Roma exhibits all the characterisitics we like in the breed.
"Tovi" aka Cantabile Toivo (Sotnosar's Elmer X Cantabile Penelope) also bred by Mia Johnsson joined our family on October 6, 2006 at 9 weeks of age. We look forward to showing him. He is a confident, fun puppy with lots of charm, great confirmation and a wonderful pedigree. Both Roma and Tovi's bloodlines expand and compliment what we already have. We are very fortunate to have them both.
